Is episode 1 important?

As the title said. Is episode one of each anime important? To me,yes they are cos they will affect whether you will continue watching the anime or not.

I think the first episode is important,the characters are introduced,you can see what it's about and whether you want to continue watching it.

The first episode doesn't really affect whether I would continue watching the anime, cos if that's the case, I wouldn't have completed SHnY. I'd have to watch a few more episodes to decide whether I want to continue.

It just gives me a rough idea of what to expect, along with the kind of characters involved. So yeah, it is kinda important.

F***ing hell yes. The first episode is what introduce us to the characters and settings, leaving us with some impression with the result of whether we will like it or not, whether we'll just going to continue on watching the story or leave it all together.
