Anyhow, to get the discussion started, what do you guys think of the new Mermen/Fishmen arc? So far I'm kinda dissapointed with it, cool as it is that previous characters got involved again, I have to say the lack of seriousness bring it down. Comedy is good, but this is pushing it. Especially Luffy's behavior is annoying me at this time.

Still, One Piece rules!

I'm more interested in Ace's fate than the current arc. I know Luffy trusts Ace's strength, and Ace is indeed stronger than him.. but now.. sigh..

At least he isn't dead, I expected him to be. I'd love for him to make a comeback and join the Strawhats after Blackbeard kills Whitebeard (SPOILER ALERT :O:O:O) which I think is gonna happen sooner or later to make Blackbeard the main enemy of One Piece.

Even with the straw hats meeting up with a mermaid and a merman, that doesn't mean Oda officially entered the Mermen/Fishman arc... I think this arc will be minor ...Like the Davy back arc...

And yeah I agree with you that Luffy can be irritating sometimes but to me, he's the most unique and coolest character in the anime/manga world.

This arc is funny, tat guy look like "sanji" couldn't stop laughing when i saw that face

Such a funny chapter, was nice to see Sunny's true power and Luffy gaining shanks-like aura would pwn.

Yeah I hope Luffy will kick just as much ass as shanks

Camie and Hatchi? Nah. At least, I don't hope so.

I remember reading somewhere (manga maybe?) that Luffy wants a crew of nine members. With brook joining the crew since they lacked a musician. Luffy officially has completed his crew.

I'd be grateful if anyone could confirm that cos I myself am not sure.

I think Oda said 10 members. But is that Luffy + 9 or Luffy + 10?

Anyways, I dont think more members are needed. Some characters are under appriciated as it is. Give Chopper, Nami and Robin more to do!

It better be Luffy + 9... There are already a lot of main characters in the story. Hope that Oda manages to arrange the roles between them well in the coming chapters.

Even with 9, the number's just too much for me. I'd rather it before Nico (who's the girl again?) joined actually. It's getting harder to focus the developments of the main characters now.... they're just 'too many'.

But you're right, its getting very crowded. Especially Brook wasn't necessary from my point of view. Robin would've been a good last member.
